Forsters Landscape Supplies is owned and run by Phil Forster. He has over 25 years of experience in the landscaping industry. Phil purchased the Trinity Gardens landscaping yard in 2010. The business initially had an online presence, but somehow it got lost. Our brief was very straightforward – get the business back online and make it easy to be found by current and new customers.
Reviewing other landscape supply businesses, we noted the poor-quality, inconsistent images used of the products – making selections for the average gardener a challenge. Working with our trusted commercial photographer Chris Otto, we decided to turn this around and make images of the products the central element of the brand strategy.
Forsters already had an established logo and saw no need to change this. Instead, we extended the brand identity with a comprehensive colour pallet, type, language and vast collection of commissioned and stock imagery.
As is common with many small business marketing projects, the first phase involves a level of detective work. Gaining access to domain admin, setting up new servers, regaining control of Google My Business pages and cleaning up Social media accounts. However, once finished, the new website quickly moved up to page one for many landscape-oriented keyword searches and other online marketing tools like Facebook were put to use.
A range of Facebook ads was developed to increase brand awareness within specifically targeted areas of Adelaide, working in conjunction with SEO and Search Engine Marketing efforts. We continue to manage the website and hosting – providing a simple written report on the business’s online performance every couple of months.
